redline

Gardur Iceland reminded me of the beauty and the power of nature. When viewing rock formations, my thoughts were sent back in geological time, for a million years they have sat there eroded by the elements into their powerful presence. I draw attention to their beauty by delineating them with a red string, emphasizing the connection and the flow between humans and nature.
red line, a limit past which something shouldn’t cross safely
red thread, a set destiny

Comfort Zone
A site-specific project created in Willington, New Zealand, for an exhibition at Victoria University. By using red string sewn carefully onto solvy, a delicate and ephemeral material, I created a personal journal tracing unfamiliar places, brief encounters, and fragments of time.
